There simply are no words for what blue pan means to me - Best. Pizza. EVER. Whenever I have visitors to Denver I always find a way to take them to Blue Plan for their Detroit style pizza. I've never had such soft and delicious crusted pizza before. My favorites are the Brooklyn Bridge, Parma Italia, 3-1-3, and the Rocky Mountain but I promise you can't go wrong with any of them. I've been wanting to try the other styles they have (NY, Italian, & Cracker thin) but the Detroit style calls to me every time. Service is always great and they have an excellent beer suggestion. Although the Congress Park location is bigger than the Highlands, it still can serve no more than maybe 50-60 people at a time plus the bar - so be aware that you will most likely have a wait at peak times. I PROMISE it's worth it!
Might be the BEST PIZZA IN DENVER! DEFINITELY TOP 5! If you're looking for amazing pizza this is the place! I came here on a Sunday night to try the pizza. I had seen all the great reviews and my friend highly recommended it so wanted try it out for myself. We got there around 630 and had to wait about 20 min for a table. (Always a sign it's a good place). We started of with some cocktails and appetizer. I had the Aperol Spritzer which was great. For appetizer we ordered the Arancini (risotto balls). These were amazing especially with the tomato sauce and basil. For pizza we went with a large Brooklyn Bridge. It was sooooo yummy. I especially love the fresh ricotta that they put on top. Highly recommend this pizza!!! I definitely will be coming back and overall had a great experience. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. And the food came out very quickly. Hands down 5 out of 5 stars!!!
No question this is the best pizza I've ever had. Ever. Ever. My husband and I were legitimately discussing whether we could move to Denver because of this pizza - I'm not exaggerating in the slightest. Living in Texas we discovered Detroit style pizza from a well known Austin pizzeria called Via313 - I didn't think anything could compare until having Blue Pan last night. I worried when we walked in and noticed the crust a little deeper than Via313 (unless it's Detroit style I don't like a thick/deep crust) but wow - don't let that deter you - they nailed the perfect flavor, softness, crispness, saltiness, cheesiness, chewiness. Not to mention their sauce is extremely tasty and complements their cheeses well. Literally perfection! We did an 8-piece, half Brooklyn Bridge and half Johnny Primo. Since they're just slightly different in ingredients, it's not surprising we loved both flavors, but my husband did lean more towards the Brooklyn Bridge and I leaned slightly more towards the Johnny P, which worked out perfectly if you ask me! The ricotta on the Brooklyn Bridge (which typically I hate ricotta anything) was soooo creamy and added a nice element to the pie. The staff was so nice and accommodating as we were those jerks who walked in 30 minutes before close (sorry our flight landed late!) Emily was patient with our ridiculous overexcitement of being there and trying their pizza and told us how she ended up in Denver and we bonded over our mutual love of pizza. Watch out Blue Pan, we actually might just move here just so we can become regulars!
