This is one of those times where someone pops up and wants to try something different. So instead of the same taco joint we always go to we went in search of a place we have never been to. In the wandering and the looking up things on line we came across pizza. And since I am always looking for healthy eating especially at lunch time. Pizza seemed like a great idea! So the first shock... was that we just plain didn't know that it was a carryout only location. So when we walk in and the only chairs are against the wall where you could sit while they make your order. Disappointment read on the face of each and every one of us. Being the amazing people that we are (STOP LAUGHING) we went ahead and ordered. One of our number ordered the pizza and enjoyed it immensely. The rest of us ordered the calzones as we weren't as hungry as our counterpart. So let me tell you... the smallest pizza they sell is a medium... it is about 14". A calzone unbeknownst to us... is a 14" pizza folded over on top of it's self. So wow... Most of us are eating it for lunch again today as there was just so much. If you get the opportunity call in and order and pick this one up for a great for a shared lunch... or a movie/game watching night. Thanx for reading and keep on eating!

Looked them up here and online. Was going to try them based on their reviews but I got there and they were closed. Sign on the door said they take a break between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. It's was 1:30. Nothing on their website mentioned anything about that. Way to update and keep potential customers informed. So I basically drove 15-20 minutes out of my way for nothing.The place is a storefront in a rundown parking lot. The front of the lot was cluttered with litter and empty liquor shot bottles. Maybe they could use their break to clean up and make it look presentable.The majority of the windows are covered we with stock pictures. I peek in the window and see a sign that says no pork products used there. Don't advertise yourself as a pizzeria with Italian images and signs when you clearly won't serve Italian sausage pizza.Sorry, I won't make the drive again to try it. I'll find a real Italian pizzeria that keeps its information current and doesn't look trashy. ***UPDATE***I finally went back to try them about a week or so ago. They were friendly and accommodating. Pizza was okay. A little heavy on the cheese but a good value overall for the price. Still not a fan of non-pork pepperoni or sausage but that's just a personal preference. Increased my star rating and would recommend it if you're in the area but not as a destination. They could use a garbage can in the tiny eating area but otherwise not a bad place.

Stopped by Southside for the first time last night to pick up a pizza. Ordered a 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage. Between 2 people, the XL was more than enough pizza for dinner. Even have some leftovers for work the next day. The price for the pizza was pretty reasonable as well (12.99 plus tax for the XL). Now to the pizza. It was really awesome. Plenty of toppings and a very flavorful sauce. This was complemented by a nice, crispy crust. For a KC pizza connoisseur, I would definitely give Southside Mafia a try. One area that could be improved is the parking situation, which is often full. Since this store is takeout/delivery only, that helps to combat the low amount of parking available.
