An Introduction to Uno Pizzeria & Grill

Uno Pizzeria & Grill is a long standing family-friendly chain of pizzeria restaurants that focuses on serving Chicago style pizzas. Deep dish is the focus of this place, but they also serve pasta, steaks, and burgers. It is a chain so there isn’t as much charm as a local stand alone pizzeria, but it does me the food is good and consistent. Recently, Uno Pizzeria & Grill was included in the FoodBoss Experience’s Best Pizza Restaurants in Orlando article.

Review 1:

Let me start by saying I love me some Unos. I have been going to different locations since teenage years and stop in at one whenever traveling. I live in the Raleigh, NC area and there are none near me. I got the signature shrimp and crab dip. I love the crostini they serve it with. After eating that I knew I needed a dish not too heavy cause I was driving back to NC. It was lunch time so I got the unlimited soup and salad. It totally hit the spot. They have one of the best french onion soups and broccoli cheddar. Yes, it was unlimited so I ensured I had both. I love the setup of the restaurant. The bars location is great. Especially for how busy it probably gets there. I love the couples seating tables as well. That means on a busy night a party of 2 is easily accommodated. They even thought of the hig parties because the middle section is nice and spacious for parties of 6 or more. The designer was truly thinking logically and preparing for business when they set this place up. The server was nice and the hostess was very pleasant. I guess my lower review score would be from the care given to the experience. My silverware was dirty and I informed our server immediately. He never brought me clean silverware. My husbands setting had 2 so I used one of his when my food came out. My appetizer I ordered right away. Less than 5 minutes of receiving it he was serving me my soup and my salad. If that was the only thing I ordered or if I was alone I wpuld totally understand but that wasn't the case. I was with my husband and we both were still eating the appetizer. Instead of bringing my meal, soup and salad, at the same time as his shrimp scampi mine was brought out first. Now I had to choose to begin my meal so my soup doesn't get cold instead of finishing my appetizer. Overall not a bad visit because the food was delicious. Though it definitely had room for improvement.

This was our first visit to this location in the heart of tourist attraction Orlando. Several places along the way here were very busy and there were a lot of people out. We wandered in and were greeted and seated right away. we had to walk down a few stairs and then up a few stairs to get to the table they sat us at. It's a good atmosphere and the restaurant with lots of things to look at. The only downfall here is that it's a rather dark setting and we had a bit of trouble reading the menus. Thankfully we are somewhat familiar with Uno's food. I want simple and got a build your own individual deep dish pizza with sausage, pepperoni and banana peppers. My companion got the Chicken Spinoccoli pasta. Our food was excellent and there was quite a bit of it. We both had leftovers which meant lunch the next day. We were very happy with both the food and the service at this location. My only other issue was using their little kiosk to check out. There was a dead spot on the screen we're the number one and letter z line up. This made it rather difficult to enter both my email address and payment information. As nobody was around at this point and no one came back to our table I just worked out a way to deal with it. In the end I was able to get everything done.

"Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quarto” (Wooly Bully - Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs) Twelve of us were in Orlando for the mid year meeting of a charitable organization we all belong to. We started our days from home all over North America; from New England, all over the Mid-West, one from Texas, one from Virginia, and one from Western Canada. Rather than driving somewhere for dinner after our long travel days, we opted to simply walk out of our Embassy Suites hotel, walk across the street, and walk into Pizzeria Uno. They treated us very well, and despite those of you out there who may be rolling your eyes about eating at a chain restaurant with 90 locations, I'm telling you that the food and service got high marks and we all had a blast, catching up, laughing and drinking, and eating some very good food. I saw a lot of goodies on our dinner table, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and a whole lot of pizza. They have a Build Your Own menu choice for appetizers ($17.99) and I crafted a great sharing plate of four choices -Honey Barbecue wings, mozzarella sticks,  meatballs and a big quesadilla wedge.  I liked the wing and half a meatball I sampled a lot. My wife and I split a Chicago Thin Crust 10" Individual size pizza with 9 slices ($14.29). We asked for onions and sausage and jalapenos on one half, the kitchen delivered a great tasting thin pie that was very satisfying. One of the youngsters at our table ended up with a Sundae Bar -this was very cool -a scoop of vanilla ice cream served with little dishes of chocolate sauce, sprinkles, whipped cream, etc. so he could build his own sundae. Nice touch! That's about it, our server was great, the menu was broad and varied, and the food was perfect for what we wanted.
