Window for pizza and snacks (including salads, garlic knots, pretzel bites, etc) that is connected to a taproom and bottle shop in The Grove. Tap room has an enormous selection of beer, and has both table and counter bar seating. Have a couple of board games lying around that you can play at your table as well. Counter service, and use trophies as table markers. Limited seating in the area where you order, but tons of seating in the tap room. Pizza is New York-style. Can either get an 18-inch pizza with your choice of toppings, or a $4/5 slice. Also have vegan and vegetarian options. Stay open super late (Midnight T-Th & 3:30 AM F & Sat). My review should be taken with a grain of salt because I grew up outside of NY (and am therefore a pizza snob) but I tried both the sausage and the pepperoni and was not a huge fan of either. The crust was too crunchy and the pizza was too thin. It tasted like an STL pizzeria's take of a NY pizza to me. I tried a salad as well and it was ok, but not great

Overall, a solid place to grab NY-style pizza at the Grove. I have walked by Pie Guy a couple of times and was interested in trying it. I was able to go with a friend and we went to both Gezellig and Pie Guy at the same time. I got a slice of the cheese pizza and it was different that other slices that I've had in the city (Pizza Head, the URB etc.). There was a more definite herb flavor to the pizza than the places that I mentioned that resonated throughout eating my cheese slice. Pricing was around $4 for the cheese and around ~$5 for pizza with toppings, which is similar to the URB and Pizza Head. Another plus to Pie Guy is the location. It's connected to a great place to get beers for a reasonable price (Gezellig) and you can bring the beers from Gezellig over to Pie Guy to chow down on your pizza while drinking beer. The hours also make it a good place to grab a late night snack in the Grove.

I love this place! Super friendly staff, interesting setup next to a bar ( where you can choose from a huge selection of beers). A small amount of indoor seating is available as well as outdoor seating. It's a great spot for people watching. We ordered a cheese pizza and a Saint Louis Chopped salad. The salad was great...very fresh and tasty. The pizza was excellent. We ordered an 18" Cheese. It's NY style here. The crust is special...crispy and light. Next time I'm there I'll probably order extra sauce as it was lighter than I prefer. If you're not drinking alcohol from next door, there's water and free Koolaid. All the cups & utensils and dishes are recyclable or compost ready. Nice touch!
