Wow! Took my daughter out for a mommy/daughter day, and this was the perfect way to end it. We ordered 1/2 shiitake pizza, 1/2 cheese pizza. The shiitake pizza was some of the best pizza I've had- and yes, I've had Chicago pizza. Service for this location is top notch. This was my first time dining in, but I have picked up pizza in the past. Everyone is friendly and happy to accommodate your dining needs. Our waitress was very kind- wish I would've gotten her name! The decor here reminds me of toy story when the little aliens are in the vending machine- you feel like you're in outer space. My 5 year old was very impressed! We will be returning soon!
Review 2:
Finally gave Mellow Mushroom a try after moving down south from the northeast. I know it has a cult following, but I am guessing it is because that cult never tried NYC pizza. So we tried the pretzel bites, the chef salad, and the great white pizza. For dessert, I had a Paloma cocktail (alcohol can be a dessert!). For starters, the salad was pretty good. The dressing was good, the toppings were yummy, and the vegetables were somewhat fresh. Like most of the hipster places in Memphis, the salad came in a weird bowl/wall structure. I don't get this. It just makes it harder to eat. Just stop! The pretzel bites made me chuckle. I expected soft pretzel nuggets with a flavorful beer cheese. I got pieces of pizza dough, baked with some parmesan/garlic topping. The beer cheese was runny milk sauce. Luckily, I was feeling a carb day, so I was digging the pizza dough (a more suitable name) bites for their wonderful doughy-ness. Now to the pizza. The great white. What sounded like a gourmet concoction on the menu, ended up to be a glob of salt-less mozzarella cheese and undercooked white onion with some tidbits of basil and a few slices of roma tomatoes. So disappointing, especially considering the absurd price (over $20 for a medium). For my dessert, the Paloma fit the task. It was a sweet mix of yummy juice. Somehow the tequila got lost along the way. I had to order a shot of tequila on the side and mix it in just to get my cocktail-feel. To sum it up, the food was subpar and the cocktails are for college freshman who think wine-coolers are hard liquor. The only reason I gave this review 2 stars instead of 1, was our waitress, Erianna. She was amazing and very personable. Some of the best customer service we have experienced in Memphis to date.

A buddy and I grabbed dinner here last night to watch the Baylor basketball game in the first round of the NIT. I've been to this restaurant several times and the one in Germantown a couple of times. I have some friends and family who prefer other pizza places, but I think MM is good. I like the atmosphere and decor of the place. The staff was nice and engaging as well. The food last night was was good and fresh. I had the Great White and my friend got a salad with grilled chicken. The pizza was very tasty and my friend said the salad with ranch dressing was good as well. For some reason there were very few people there last night (Tuesday) which, unfortunately, because of the restaurant's size made it feel "empty." Overall I would recommend this place and will likely return.
