I never knew this was here! It's really like a hidden gem. My gal pals and I met here last week for dinner and I was surprised at the size. It's fairly big, almost perfect for a pizza party or a group of friends to come and watch the game! They're supposedly under construction right now and have a post presented on the in convince of their appearance but honestly, you can't even tell. We ordered half pepperoni and half Italian. The pie slices are huge and plenty for the 4 of us. I really enjoyed the thin and crunchy crust. So tasty! And the pizza was on the oily side but not an overwhelming amount. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be sure to stop in!

I simply LOVE Giovanni's both locations: East Sac and Land Park. This pizza is truly authentic and the owners are from Brooklyn. I get a kick out of when they're working and can hear their accent. You can tell by the menu that it's very East Coast New York style by looking at some of the pizza varieties. They're all going to be thin crust, they're all going to have garlic, and they're all going to be delicious. They even have a pizza with clams on it. I've never had it so I can't say what it taste like but it's the only place I've ever seen with that option so it must be something special to make it on the menu. What is unique to Giovanni's is there Stuffata! If you have never had it, trust me get one ASAP. You will not regret it. Think of a marriage between a calzone and a stromboli but it has ricotta cheese. It is truly the best thing I have ever had. You can pick the ingredients that you want in your Stuffata. My favs are sausage, olives and mushrooms. On Halloween I had a stromboli and stuffata taste off. It was great to have the comparison but I'm hands down for the stufatta. The lady at the counter was super sweet considering how many rude people were there trying to pick up their pizza. Why I waited I got to enjoy a yummy Stout on tap. Thanks for making my Halloween!

It was getting late and we knew we wanted some pizza before heading home but had the dilemma of having our dog with us so we popped open our Being Fido app and proceeded to look for a pizza place that is dog friendly. Giovanni's came up first and I searched them on Yelp to view their pictures and ratings. I was a little worried because some people can be really negative and base their one star off of one thing that went bad instead of everything else that went right. So, I took elite only advice because only we know what the crap we are talking about. Any who I call ahead just to ensure that my Lily girl would be okay and they said they have a dog friendly patio! Yaaay!! We get there and it's a bit slow, but have people picking up to go orders like crazy. I already knew we wanted the square deep dish pizza know as the Sicilian style pizza. Upon check in you get 2 free toppings so pepperoni and mushrooms it is. Our wait wasn't too long. We used the restrooms, washed our hands and got our drinks (coke machine with 100+ choices) and about 10 mins after that our fluffy pile of goodness came out. We looked at it and thought, "oh man this thing is huge." We thought that one since each would fill us up because it was so dense, but it wasn't. It was actually like biting into a crispy pocket of airy dough topped with awesome sauce and cheese. It was like nothing I've ever had before. Giovanni (the owner) was the one who took my order. I told him it was our first time there and gave me the low down on how the pizza was introduced to the area. He was very nice and helpful. I came to find out his family is from Sicily but he was born and raised in Brooklyn. He brought his love for Pizza over to Cali and thus this pizzeria was born. I can appreciate the love and commitment it takes to put your all into something like a business. High five to him. One last thing Giovanni told me was directions on how to reheat the pizza. He said the best way to warm the pizza is on the stove on low heat covered with a lid. The heat travels through the air pockets and it saves the taste. Very, very cool!
