Review 1:

Do it! Seriously... just do it. Skeptical on the location? Don't be... this area in southwest Detroit is on a surge, and this establishment is on the forefront of bringing the necessary change to the surrounding area. (Seriously... they profit share with the community, go in and they'll be happy to tell you all about it). Afraid to not get Mexican food? I think the Neapolitan pizzas sell themselves... light and crispy, makes my mouth water just thinking about it. This place hosts a ton of great events and has the size (hence the plex of pizzaplex) to accommodate large groups. Thinking of hosting a party? Business dinner? Presentation? Looking for your professional group to meet somewhere unique? The can accommodate it all and were deliberate in their business execution to have a space to host these events, hence their name. On the other side the main dining room has the perfect lighting that adds to the low key, chill ambiance. Never a bad day for the tunes in this place, and they have a full bar so you get to pick if it's a Peroni kind of a day or a Negroni kind of evening. And a fantastic wine selection. Like a bottle? Buy one to take home. Sipping the Campania (red) as I write this review. They also run a coffee shop vibe, with the coffee and espresso of course (why wouldn't they if it's Naples themed). Been coming here for a year or so and the pizza keeps getting better... literally... The staff traveled to Naples to learn how to make pizza right and now is VPN certified (look up Vera Pizza Napoletana). Truly an art form and you can learn all about it at their pizza making class held on Tuesdays. They run a monthly pizza special, but you can never go wrong with their Margherita pizza. This is the pizza dreams are made of.

Review 2:

True Neapolitan pizza right here in South West Detroit. Pizza is made in a oven fired by real bribing log wood. The crust on the pizza is always hot and fluffy like a beautiful carb pillow...I'll stop before I get too carried away. I recommend the Porcini Pizza (blanco) fresh mozzarella, porcini mushrooms, pancetta, truffle oil, and fresh basil. Or the specialty pizza No. 8 called the Nikolette! They offer Pizza Yolo classes every Tuesday night where you can learn to make authentic pizza and do a wine tasting. Pizza Plex is also a full bar, coffee house, and community gathering center.

Review 3:

In the heart of Mexicantown, this definitely deserves a mention in the Detroit food scene. It's important to note that Pizzaplex isn't open every day or even during lunch on days they are open.  Check their hours before heading over to be safe. Visiting on a Saturday afternoon/early evening, we arrived on the early side about 5pm. Decently busy, we ordered a few drinks, an appetizer, and two pizzas to share among the four of us. Service was great. The waitress provided awesome recommendations across the board, and was overall quick with orders, food, drinks, and the like. Drinks: We tried the winter margarita: a bit on the smaller side, a tad sweet, but overall great. Food: The caprese salad was delicious - it is served with cherry tomatoes instead of larger ones, but that also means it's easier to share. The Margherita pizza is so good - but the sauce it comes with is decadent. In other words, don't waste your time subbing in for the spicy tomato sauce - the regular is the way to go. We got one of each (one with spicy, one regular) and between the four of us, we all preferred the regular over the spicy. The tomato sauce itself is slightly sweet and tastes super fresh - highly recommend it!  Not to mention the dough is just the perfect texture and taste. The ambience is very hipster and the music, well... I'll just say it added to the character of the restaurant. I would definitely return, many many times.
