Review 1:

just moved to the area and I'm scouting for all the local spots. We've been moving all day and we need a big filling meal. It's Sunday night at 9pm. what could possibly be open at this hour that is good and not going to break my bank? Found this place with yelp, it has great reviews and it's open until 10pm. I called in, a young man answered. AMAZING phone service. Literally the best phone service I ever experienced. Wow. I was going to make my review just based on that. A Sunday night at 9pm I was expecting some dead employee to rush me off the phone. This guy treated me like a real person, answered my questions, made recommendations, and listened. I didn't quite know what I wanted, everything on the menu looks good. I asked him to just hook me up with any large pizza that he felt was a top seller or that he personally liked. He said the Tikki Chicken with Garlic butter sauce and the meat lovers with tomato sauce was popular. He recommended that I do a half and half. It was going to take 20 minutes for carry out. We've passed through this strip mall a handful of times but never noticed this place. It's kinda hidden in plain sight. When you walk in it's a lot bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Tons and tons of seating, I mean you could have a 20+ party there. It's not decked out or anything, not fancy, but it's clean. They've got sodas/Snapple's/etc. Same guy on the phone greeted us. Still super friendly , smiling, making conversation. The pizza was reasonably priced under 20$ for a large with plenty of toppings, and it could feed about 3 people. When he presented us with the pizza, he opened the box for us as a quality check. It was beautiful, oozing with the butter sauce. We can tell he shared the same excitement with us just by showing us what it looked like. As for the taste of the pizza, great. We will be coming back for sure. The freshness of the tomato on the savory chicken tikki is a nice touch. I liked that the garlic butter sauce was very complimentary for the crust. It truly embodies "buttery" in its consistency and flavor. It is not creamy, too thick, or over powering. I ate pretty much most of that half of the pizza without even noticing. my husband was like "damn are you really gonna eat all the chicken part." Whoops. As for the meat lovers part, it's a classic meat lovers. The pepperoni is hidden under the cheese, so upon first sight it's underwhelming but once it's in your mouth, the meats of this slice reveal themselves. Washing this down with a coke is great. I don't feel heavy and crappy after eating like some other greasy pizza spots. Totally 100% recommend this spot and will be coming back with friends for sure.

Review 2:

Maybe about 4 years or so ago you couldn't convince me that pizza wasn't just pizza. I didn't understand people's major preferences of pizza. I was content with Pizza Hut or Papa John's. However, this restaurant is one of two pizza places in Indianapolis that made me change my whole perspective on pizza. This place prepares their meats halal style and whatever else they put in the food is great. I've only had two items off the menu. The meat lovers pizza and chicken wings and if I never ate anything else off the menu I would be okay with that. They have two sauces to choose from: a traditional red sauce and a garlic sauce. I used to get half and half now I just get the garlic sauce. I used to live on the west side so it was not far. Since having to relocate to the south side it's a bit of a trek but when I'm really in the mood that 20 minute drive both ways is worth it.

Review 3:

This is my favorite type of place: so unassuming and so delicious. I don't know why Magoo's isn't more popular but I'm going to do what I can to spread the word! Pretty much everything is unique about Magoo's. They only serve halal meat which is really cool. There is a prayer room off to the side in the front for those who follow the call the prayer. They have different pizza flavors like chicken tikka and chappli kebab. But what gets me is the crust. Any true pizza lover knows a pizza is only as good as its crust, and this might have just become my favorite. It's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, strong enough to hold all the toppings, and with a flavor of its own that just compliments the pizza until you get to the very end. I'm ready to eat this crust plain. The specialty pizzas don't have marinara sauce on them, I don't know what it was but it was delicious. They also have subs, calzones, burgers, salads, apps (garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, wings, potato wedges, chicken nugs), and kebab. The only thing I found a little odd was that there's no soda fountain, all drinks are by the can/bottle, including water. I'm so glad a second location just opened up in Avon, I hope this business continues to grow and I can't wait til my next trip back!
