A Review of GoreMade Pizza - Columbus Pizza

An Introduction to GoreMade Pizza

With an interesting backstory that includes selling pizzas out of the back of a Subaru, the founders of GoreMade finally opened a sit down restaurant. Pizzas are made in a wood fired oven on premises. Remaining true to their origin story, the owners of GoreMade Pizza maintain a strong commitment to supporting local farmers and source all their ingredients locally so you know everything on your pizza will be fresh and the best available in the Columbus area. They include some gluten free options on the menu to keep everyone happy. Additionally, GoreMade Pizza was recently included in our Best Pizza Restaurants in Columbus article. Review 1:

Nick has done a great job of turning his love for wood-fired pizza into a a brick and mortar restaurant. The location is perfect in an up and coming neighborhood with plenty of parking options all around. I must rav about the back patio. It's perfect! Brick laid paving the area and wooden fence enclosing, it's spacious and just so stinking relaxing! Nick and his staff of pizza protégé always have a chat going with patrons -jovial personalities. Met a friend for the Sunday $20 pizza buffet - all you can eat pizza and salad, and it was the perfect warm evening to enjoy on the patio. I was craving a sausage/mush/red pepper getup, and if you request a certain pizza, they'll gladly make it and put it out on the buffet (a big bonus, imo!). My requested pizza tasted fantastic - thin crust, good amount of cheese, and I'm such a nut for CRUMBLED sausage - gets me every time! Of course, their mushroom get-up, which seems to be popular with the regulars, was just as delish! I look forward to more stops as the warmer weather sets in (and the seasonal depression takes a hike ;D).

Review 2:

My all-time favorite C'bus pizza place was Bono Pizza, which unfortunately is on extended hiatus (although I've read that Jake & Ruth are promising to bring it back at some point).  So I've since been forced to find a replacement to fill the pizza-sized hole in my heart, food-wise, anyway. Hat tip to Baba's very own Dan Kraus for recommending GoreMade, which while not quite making as sublime (and absurd) pizzas as Bono, is about as close as you'll currently get.  The crusts are thin, and slightly charred, as one would expect from a wood-fired oven, and the combinations are a little eccentric and damned tasty.  The folks at GoreMade emphasize seasonal ingredients, which is a nice touch; we really enjoyed the ramp pizzas we had this past spring.  The Clintonvillian is worth it just for the name, but as it turns out, is a very tasty combination, as well. What really makes GoreMade pizza special is the enormous outdoor courtyard in the back.  It's a fantastic place to have dinner when the weather's warm, sitting under the big tree.  Our last meal there we watched the thunderstorms pass by to the south of us while chowing down in the hot humid air; it's the kind of thing that makes me really enjoy summer in Columbus.

Review 3:

The pizza here is pretty solid. I got the Clintonvillain (mushroom, truffle oil). It was certainly good and worth it, but I've definitely had better (but to be fair that was in NYC which is hard to beat)! My best friend got the Chef's choice, which is just something they make out of whatever they think of - definitely recommend for adventurous eaters! Ours had a pesto base, pepperoni, caramelized apples, a cheese sauce, and much much more (was delicious)! Our server was also TOP NOTCH!!! They also have an interesting happy hour - if you buy 3 drinks, you get a free cheese or pepperoni pizza. We didn't get that, but maybe I'll think about that in the future. My only complaint was that a different guy who worked there (not our actual server) basically shooed us out (kinda rudely), which has never happened to me ever before. I understand that they have limited seating (I guess another thing they can work on), but we had just paid, so there was no reason for that.Overall though, I think if you want a good pizza, this place is worth a visit!
